Celebrating 60 Years of Iowa-Yucatán Partners!

On November 8, 2025, Iowa–Yucatán Partners celebrated 60 years of friendship and collaboration at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Members and guests gathered at the Multicultural Education Center and the Scholar Space to reflect on six decades of partnership, share updates from the recent immersion trip to Yucatán, and honor the organization’s lasting impact in both regions.

The celebration highlighted stories from long-time members, new connections formed through cultural exchange, and a renewed commitment to future collaboration.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special milestone event!

Iowa-Yucatán Partners

Connecting Cultures, Building Community

The Iowa-Yucatán Partners is a grassroots, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to fostering long-lasting relationships and mutual understanding between the people of Iowa, USA, and Yucatán, Mexico. As part of the broader Partners of the Americas network, our mission is to create sustainable impact through collaboration in areas such as education, public health, agriculture, cultural exchange, and community development.

Founded on the belief that international friendship can transform lives, the Iowa-Yucatán partnership has facilitated decades of people-to-people exchanges, technical assistance programs, youth leadership initiatives, and service projects. Our work empowers communities in both regions to share knowledge, address local challenges, and celebrate each other's cultural heritage.

With a deep respect for the strengths of both Iowa and Yucatán, we strive to build bridges that promote equity, opportunity, and global citizenship. Whether through student exchanges, medical missions, or agricultural innovation, we are proud to be part of a movement that proves that ordinary citizens—working together across borders—can achieve extraordinary things.
